SafeNav Project Progress-November 2022

The SafeNav (SaferNavigation) Project is well underway as month three of the three-year maritime safety project draws to a close. The team is currently finalising D2.1 User specifications and operational requirements, a final specification document that will be the project’s first deliverable. The detailed specification document is the result of constant workshops, coordination, and preparation efforts by both the end-users and technical experts.

The SafeNav project’s ambition is to develop and test a highly innovative collision prevention solution that will significantly reduce the probability of collisions and groundings, thereby enhancing safer navigation at sea for existing and the new generation of vessels that aim to go remotely operated or autonomous in the future.
